  • Project development — Special projects empower interns to develop and implement innovative ideas. Past projects include software to track patient belongings and new ways to provide exceptional patient experiences

How to apply

Montage Health Foundation sponsors a limited number of interns each summer. Interested students should review the qualifications below and complete the application by March 15.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have completed freshman year of college or one semester of a trade school or certification program with degree or certification still in process
  • Must be willing to intern for 30 hours per week for eight continuous weeks. Work weeks are Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday. The work week is dependent on Montage Health’s needs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems that involve multiple variables
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Ideal candidate

  • Self-starter with a curious, inquisitive personality, inspired by challenging projects and not afraid to question the status quo

  • Natural ability to process and articulate information into sound decision-making

  • High level of enthusiasm and energy, approaching tasks with a proactive mindset

  • Manages multiple responsibilities simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently

Guidelines

  • Interns must apply and interview. If selected, a committee will place them in the appropriate department. Placement is not guaranteed
  • Internships start on May 15, June 3, or June 17, depending on the intern’s school calendar
  • Interns receive a $5,000 Montage Health Foundation stipend at the end of their eight-week internship
  • All Interns will be onboarded through Montage Health Foundation Volunteer Services with a background check, immunizations, health screening, and compliance training
  • Interns may not receive college or clinical credit for their internship
  • Interns may not provide hands-on care such as distributing medication, starting IVs, transferring patients, etc.
  • Interns will be selected and notified by April 15. Applicants who have not been contacted by this date are encouraged to apply again the following year
