Request partial funding for an AED

Nonprofit organizations in Monterey County can apply for a partial grant when obtaining AED(s) through Tyler Heart Institute's AED program.

Tyler Heart Institute's AED program is sponsored by the generosity of the community through the Montage Health Foundation. In an effort to spread program funds throughout the community, we encourage each organization to contribute as much as possible.

Request partial funding for the purchase of an AED

Step 1: Obtain a letter from organization leadership

A signed letter from the director of the organization (i.e. pastor, principal, program director) explaining the organization’s need for an AED is required to apply.

Step 2: Submit an online application to request partial funding

The Tyler Heart Institute's AED program staff will review the application and notify organization of additional questions or approval.

Step 3: Submit payment

An invoice will be sent according to the agreed upon contribution amount with instructions for payment submission.

Step 4: Schedule a site visit

Once payment has been received, the Tyler Heart Institute's AED program will schedule an onsite visit with leadership/management staff. This meeting will be to:

  • Review the Tyler Heart Institute AED program
  • Review the letter of agreement
  • Recommend optimal AED locations and signage
  • Review required training options for all employees
  • Obtain contact information for an individual who will be responsible for completing the required monthly maintenance checks

Step 5: Install the wall cabinet(s)

If the AED is intended to be stationary, a wall cabinet will be delivered to the organization at the time of the site visit. It is the organization’s responsibility to have it installed and then follow up with the Tyler Heart Institute's AED program once completed.

Step 6: Participate in training

Once all employees have completed an AED training session, the AED will be brought to the site and officially enrolled into the program.
