Outpatient, or same-day, means you visit the surgery center for your procedure and go home afterward. If your examination or treatment is available on an outpatient basis, you may benefit from:

• Cholecystectomy – Removes the gallbladder
• Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) procedures, such as a tonsillectomy
• Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures, such as endoscopy
• Gynecologic procedures, such as laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)
• Hernia repair – Fixes abnormal bulges of internal organs or tissues
• Ophthalmology (eye) procedures, such as macular degeneration injections and cataract surgery
• Orthopedic procedures, including minimally invasive arthroscopy of the knee or shoulder joint
• Plastic surgeries, including breast augmentation, liposuction, and rhinoplasty
