Your team at the Family Birth Center
Every member of the Family Birth Center team is here to support you along your birth journey. At Community Hospital's Family Birth Center, we understand there is no one right way to give birth. You can feel confident knowing your team will follow your lead while ensuring you deliver as safely and comfortably as possible.
Your nurses
Our nurses have an unmatched passion for birth and those first days of life. Many of them have decades of birthing experience and experience helping families become ready for their return home. Our nurses are part of the community — ask your friends and family and they’ll surely tell you about an amazing nurse that made all the difference during their time with us.
Our hospital has a variety of ways for you to share your story and experience with us. We encourage you to share your unique birth story, or, submit a DAISY Award nomination if you wish to acknowledge a special nurse.
Our nurses provide high quality medical care that centers on your needs and honors your choices during and after birth. Most are trained in labor, delivery, cesarean, and postpartum care, allowing for a seamless patient experience. As a Baby-Friendly hospital, all our nurses have additional training in breastfeeding, so our patients can have individual support at every feeding no matter what method they choose.
Specialty care nursery
Enjoy peace of mind knowing the specialists at our level II specialty care nursery are ready to provide advanced support to babies who need additional medical care. Level II specialty care nurseries offer advanced care for babies who are born prematurely, have a low birth weight, or need certain treatments.
OBs are always on-site
The Family Birth Center’s OB Hospitalist program gives patients 24/7 access to an on-site OB provider in the event your own OB is unavailable or there is a medical emergency where you need immediate care.
Doctors for you
Obstetricians (OBs) are doctors who specialize in pregnancy, labor and delivery, and post-childbirth care. When choosing your OB and pediatrician, you have many options in the community. Only certain doctors have medical privileges at the Family Birth Center. Medical privilege lets a doctor provide care at our hospital so they can look after you during your stay. When choosing an OB or pediatrician, ask them if they have privileges at the Family Birth Center. You can also use our online doctor directory to look up an OB or pediatrician who can provide care at the birth center.
