Preventing youth alcohol and drug use

In addition to providing classes and resources that educate youth and families about substance use prevention, Ohana also leads a community-based drug prevention coalition that features substance use awareness clubs throughout Monterey County schools.

Ohana Youth Advisory

Ohana’s Youth Advisory is a council of high school students who advise Ohana leadership in their decision-making and program development. This group of teenagers represents students from all over the county from various schools coming together to work toward a common goal: helping their peers receive better mental health treatment. Learn more about the advisory and how students can apply.

School programs

Ohana’s school-based mental fitness program provides mental fitness skill-building and education to youth, parents, and school staff in Monterey County. An Ohana therapist or social worker provides services at select middle schools one day per week throughout the school year. Learn more.

Community events

Ohana provides mental health education at community events throughout the year with presentations, information booths, and partnerships with other local organizations.
