Caretracker
Keeping you informed during your Emergency department visit
At Montage Health’s Emergency department, we understand that timely updates and clear communication can help ease some of the stress of your visit. CareTracker is a tool designed to keep you and your family informed throughout your stay, providing important updates directly to your phone via text message.
How CareTracker works
Throughout your visit, CareTracker will send you updates about key steps in your care journey. These text messages will help you understand what’s happening next, so you are never left wondering what to expect.
Types of messages you may receive
Triage call
You will be notified when it’s your turn to be seen by the nurse for your triage assessment. Example: “Report to the nurse for more information. They are ready to see you.”
Final triage call
If you don’t respond to the initial call, you will receive a final call before we assume you’ve left. Example: “This is your final call. We will assume you have left if you do not report to the nurse.”
Provider assigned
Once a provider has been assigned to your care, you’ll be notified that they are reviewing your chart. Example: “A provider has been assigned to your care team and is reviewing your chart now.”
Consult ordered
You will receive a message if a specialist has been asked to review your case. Example: “Your care team has requested that a specialist review your chart.”
Lab orders (urine collection)
If lab tests that require urine collection are ordered, you’ll be informed. Example: “You have new orders that require urine collection. Ask your care team before using the restroom.”
Imaging ordered
When diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT scan, MRI, etc.) is ordered, you’ll receive a message. Example: “Your provider has ordered an imaging scan and will explain more.”
Hospital admission
If your provider decides to admit you, you’ll receive a notification that we are working on finding an available hospital bed and another once the bed is assigned to you. Examples: “Your provider plans to admit you to the hospital. We are working on finding an open bed.” And, “A hospital bed has been prepared for you. Someone will bring you there as soon as possible.”
Preparing for discharge
Once your care team starts preparing for your discharge, you’ll receive an update. Example: “We are preparing for your discharge. Do not leave before talking to your care team.”
After-visit summary
Before you leave, you’ll be notified when your after-visit summary is ready. Example: “We are preparing for you to leave. A member of your care team will update you soon with your after-visit summary.”
