Patient/Family Advisory Committee
Your experience at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is better thanks to our Patient/Family Advisory Committee (PFAC). This group gives hospital staff the perspective of patients, caregivers, and loved ones so we learn how to serve you best.
What the PFAC does
Committee members meet monthly with hospital staff to:
- Talk about hospital practices and policies that affect patients and families
- Identify strengths and areas of opportunity
- Share timely feedback
Patient and family advisors learn how the hospital works and attend conferences so they can give informed recommendations for improvements.
Making a difference
Research shows hospitals with a PFAC may have:
- Better health outcomes for patients
- Fewer errors and unexpected problems during care
- More patient loyalty
- Higher employee satisfaction
Diverse care experiences
To provide the most complete recommendations, the PFAC empowers a well-rounded group of patients and caregivers. It may include members who had experiences with inpatient (overnight) hospital care, outpatient care, emergency services, pediatrics, or other areas. That’s because we want to hear the voices of people like you.
