How to purchase an AED
Step 1: Submit an online application to purchase an AED
The Tyler Heart Institute AED staff will review your application and then contact you.
Step 2: Submit payment
An invoice will be sent to you with instructions for how to submit payment.
Step 3: Schedule a site visit
Once payment has been received, the Tyler Heart Institute’s AED program will schedule an onsite visit with leadership/management staff. This meeting will be to:
- Review the Tyler Heart Institute AED program
- Review the letter of agreement
- Recommend optimal AED locations and signage
- Review required training options for all employees
- Obtain contact information for an individual who will be responsible for completing the required monthly maintenance checks
Step 4: Install the wall cabinet(s)
An AED wall cabinet will be provided to the organization to house the AED. The organization is responsible for installing it in the designated location and then notifying the Tyler Heart Institute AED program.
Step 5: Participate in training
Once all employees have completed an AED training session, the AED will be installed and enrolled into the program.
Cost of purchase:
Organizations can purchase an AED through the Tyler Heart Institute AED program for $2,300 per AED.
This fee includes:
- The AED along with initial set of batteries & pads
- An accessory pouch
- A wall cabinet or mobile case
- Enrollment into the AED program for continued oversight and aide
Once the AED is enrolled, the only recurrent cost for organizations is to replace AED batteries and pads before they expire.
Partial grant funding is available for nonprofit organizations.
